Subject: CLEANING OF YAMUNA RIVER .


Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS be pleased to state :-

(a) whether it is a fact that the Yamuna river is still highly polluted and Government is unable to clean it despite huge sums of money being spent;

(b) if so, the reasons therefor;

(c) the details of the funds allocated and spent since the year 2005;

(d) whether any private player has been involved with the cleaning up of the Yamuna; and

(e) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by Government to clean-up the river?

(a) whether the Government is aware of the quantum of waste emitted by electrical and electronic appliances in the country and the hazards on this account;

(b) the states which are the major generators of e-waste, and the details thereof;

(c) the details of rules framed by Government to dispose-off e-waste; and

(d) whether waste emitted from electrical and electronic appliances is being disposed-off according to Government rules; and the number of recycling unit at present available in the country?

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:-

(a) the reasons for detection of HIV infected needles at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital Complex in Nagpur;

(b) the directives issued by the Union Government to the medical college and hospital in this regard;

(c) whether the medical colleges and hospitals have violated the National Aids Control Organization (NACO) norms; and

(d) if so, the action taken by the Government in this regard?
