Chennai

Rajesh Rangarajan graduated from Madras University with a Bachelors Degree in Zoology. His interest in those furry little things…animals(!), drew him to study Ecology and he finished his post-graduation in Ecology and Environmental Sciences from Pondicherry University. Over the past few years ‘RR’, as he is nick-named in the Toxics Link family, has grown into an activist with a wide-ranging experience in dealing with policy and grass-root issues.

His only focus in extra-curricular, like any passionate Indian, is… CRICKET!... uninteresting as it may sound, but his actual cricketing talents are quite incredible… his opening knocks are talked about and range from his club team in Chennai to Toxics Link’s retreat cricket match earlier this year in Manesar!

The most eligible bachelor of Toxics Link till recently, he succumbed to MARITAL WOES in June when he got engaged to a fellow social activist.

Shortly afterwards this esteemed position was taken by colleague K.S. Sudhakar, who is incidentally a friend of Rajesh from University days at Pondicherry and also shares a similar academic profile.

A graduate of Zoology from Madras Christian College in Chennai, K.S. Sudhakar also completed his Masters from Pondicherry University in Ecology and Environmental Sciences. As a committed young activist he is motivated by a craving for change in the current environmental regime. After a brief stint as a field researcher on sustainable agriculture, ‘Sudaka’ (a name he got for his contribution of E-waste information to a HongKong reporter) focuses on tackling the growing problem of E-waste in South India.

Apart from the standard interest in cricket, his sporting abilities include badminton – a game he plays regularly (but yet puts on weight!). Travel is Sudhakar’s second nature and he loves to watch birds!…er…the mynas, the bulbuls, etc…and NOT ANYTHING ELSE!
